A sure-fired way to ruin your motorhome holiday is to turn up at the rental company and find out that you can’t drive your motorhome (campervan).

To avoid this – and to ensure your motorhome pick-up is smooth and stress free – here are three tips to get you on your way.

  1. Check that your licence is valid and accepted in the country you are renting your motorhome.
  2. Does your licence permit you to drive a vehicle in the same weight class as the motorhome you have reserved?
  3. Check that the rental company will allow you to drive your motorhome to all the countries on your itinerary.

Most rental companies will allow you to travel throughout Western Europe. However, if you’re planning on going East (Ukraine, etc) or South (Turkey), then you’ll have to read the fine print.
