Luke Durbridge capped off a successful day for ORICA-GreenEDGE at the Mitchelton Bay Classic in Portalington, winning the mens race in a solo break. Teammate Tiffany Cromwell won the women’s race earlier in the day.

Durbridge was part of a select group that forced a split in the field early in the race. He attacked alone early, was caught, and attacked again. He attacked again on the bell lap and was able to stay away for the win.

“This is a super hard course with a solid climb,” said Durbridge after his victory. “I was glad to get the win. This is a super hard course with a solid climb. This type of racing suits me. The sprinters had their day yesterday around the hot dog while I struggled.”

“The team is riding really well with Jens finishing second from the break yesterday and me taking the win today. Hopefully we can do something tomorrow, too.”
