If you are a fan of the security, you need to check NTFS or FAT32 partitions of other OS or you are just curious, you can use one of the ones I recommend below:
Clam AV
Clam AV, a simple program that detect any threat that can compromise your Linux operating system. It is compatible with Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, etc… and is available in the repositories of Ubuntu.
The program features a low resource consumption and great ease of handling.
install it It’s simple, you just have to write the following in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install clamav
(This line will download and will install the antivirus in the OS, but it does not include a graphical environment, for this we have to execute the following commands).
if you use KDE:
sudo apt-get install klamav
if you use gnomes:
sudo apt-get install clamtk
Once installed, you will surely find it in Applications >> System Tools.
AVGFree
One of my favorites for Windows is also available for Linux. AVG version available free for these two OS.
To install it you have a .deb package. You just have to double click on it and it will install itself.
When you install it you will have it in the applications menu, using it will not be a problem.
avast free
According to some studies it is most used, despite being gratuitous, does not fall short and beats its paid rivals.
There is a free .deb version of Avast on the official website of the software.
Install the .deb package (download it here) with a double click and you will have Avast available in the menu Applications >> Accessories >> Avast! antivirus.
register your copy at Avast.com (it’s completely free) and you will have a key code with which to update your antivirus by clicking on Update Database.
