Solution: Bootmgr is missing in Windows 7

A few days ago I came across the famous error of BOOTMGR is missing in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, the cause was due to the removal of the linux operating system from my pc and realizing that the windows bootloader was missing. This tutorial is also useful for remove GRUB.

After uninstall linux (by deleting the partition) we lose the boot loader (MBR) of Windows but it is very easy to recover it, for this we only need a cd with our OS (either Windows 7 or Vista).

  1. we boat the Windows 7 or Vista DVD.
  2. We select the option repair system.
  3. We canceled the repair wizard.
  4. Then we select from the following options: Command PromptS%C3%ADmbolo de sistema
  5. In command sale we type:
  • bootrec /FixMbr (Press Enter)
  • bootrec /FixBoot (Press Enter)
  • Exit (Press Enter)
  • And finally we click on shutdown or restart and that’s it.

We have already recovered the Windows bootloader. Any questions will be clarified personally.
