What is Bluetooth and what is it for? How does it work and its use on Mobile Devices?

Basically the user has the possibility of establish a connection between your device and another. Achieving by this means to share files such as music, images, videos, documents in a radius of 10 meters.

Since its origin, Bluetooth was aimed at mobile devices, although today it is possible to use the platform through different types of equipment such as smart televisions (Smart tv), smart watches, media players and other electronic devices such as a PC or laptop that has a Bluetooth connection

Bluetooth arises as a result of an intense search on the part of its co-creator, the Ericcson company. The same consisted in developing a type of platform that allowed its users connect your devices using a wireless connection.

Thus arose, Bluetooth. Taking into account that this tool consists of intercommunications between wireless networks of various devices. It was developed by the American company Bluetooth Special Interest Group.

The main objective since its inception has been limit the use of USB cable connections and make the data exchange process much easier. In the same way, make connection between your devices without spending a considerable amount of energy.

Later, big technology companies such as Apple, Lenovo, Microsoft, Nokia, Toshiba and others joined. Those who contributed capital and human talent to develop the project. The name comes from the Danish king Harald Blatand, and although it was a code name associated with one of the initial versions of research, I liked it so much that I formally adopted the name Bluetooth.

The platform allows to establish connection between the devices through a system of geolocation no larger than 10 meters in diameter. This means that for the file exchange protocol to be effective both devices must be close.

How to establish connection between Bluetooth devices to exchange information?

To exchange information it is necessary to carry out some previous actions:

  • Each device with Bluetooth services has an associated code or name to be identified. Has to activate the service from your device and activate the option “pairing”.
  • The pairing or pairing is the establishment of connection between both teams. When activating the service, click on the option search to view available devices.
  • Once the device has been selected, click on the option “match” to establish connection with it.

Bluetooth emerged in the mid-90s and its main objective was to be implemented in mobile devices of the time; that for the moment were simple devices, with little storage, that could only be used to send or receive messages and later calls.

Currently, the service is available for high-end mobile equipment, so it is important to know if your cell phone is low, medium or high-end, and the so-called Smartphone or smart phones. So basically those who have undergone a change have been the equipment and not the Bluetooth platform.

Today, this platform has achieved great success, becoming used about 7,000 times a day on mobile equipment, all over the world to send an application by Bluetooth from the mobile and share many files. This is because it is quite simple, practical and does not require internet or other payment services.

It is important to mention that Bluetooth is currently available for smart devices such as sound bars of wireless connection, headphones, Bluetooth keyboard that you can connect to tablets, and endless devices.

Although Bluetooth technology was developed more than 2 decades ago, it can be said that today it is quite useful for all users who require an exchange of information between their computers or devices, and although there are other means, none it is so easy, safe and practical.
