Step by Step Guide to Syncing and Activating Both AirPods

If you're having trouble getting both of your AirPods to sync and activate at the same time, follow this step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Charge Your AirPods
Ensure that both AirPods are charged. Place them in the charging case and wait until they're fully charged. You can check the charge status on your iPhone or iPad by opening the case near your device.

Step 2: Check Bluetooth Settings
On your iOS device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is turned on. If your AirPods are listed under "My Devices," tap the "i" icon next to them and select Forget This Device to remove them from the list.

Step 3: Reset Your AirPods
With the AirPods still in the charging case, open the lid. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds until the status light flashes amber and then white. This will reset your AirPods.

Step 4: Reconnect Your AirPods
After the reset, with the charging case lid open, bring the AirPods close to your iOS device. A setup animation should appear on your device's screen. Tap Connect, and if prompted, tap Done.
