How To Connect The Bluetooth Speaker To HomePod

Step by Step Guide to Pairing Your Bluetooth Speaker with HomePod

Unfortunately, as of my last update, the HomePod does not natively support pairing with Bluetooth speakers. Apple's HomePod uses AirPlay, a different technology than Bluetooth, to connect with other devices. However, you can use your iPhone or iPad to connect a Bluetooth speaker and then use AirPlay to send audio from your iOS device to both the HomePod and the Bluetooth speaker simultaneously. Here's how you can do it:

1. Start by ensuring that your Bluetooth speaker is in pairing mode. Refer to the speaker's manual for specific instructions on how to do this, as the process can vary between different models and manufacturers.

2. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Your device will search for available Bluetooth devices.

3. Once your Bluetooth speaker appears in the list of devices, tap on it to pair. You may need to enter a code if prompted, which should be provided with your speaker's documentation.

4. After the Bluetooth speaker is paired with your iPhone or iPad, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen (or up from the bottom edge on devices with a Home button) to access the Control Center.

5. Tap and hold the audio card in the upper-right corner of the Control Center to bring up the audio output options.

6. Here, you'll see your HomePod listed as an available AirPlay device. You should also see your Bluetooth speaker listed as an option since it's connected to your iOS device.

7. Tap on both the HomePod and the Bluetooth speaker to select them as audio output sources. This will enable the audio to play through both devices simultaneously.

8. Now, any audio you play on your iPhone or iPad will be sent to both the HomePod and the connected Bluetooth speaker.

Remember that this workaround uses your iOS device as the source for streaming to both the HomePod and the Bluetooth speaker, which means the audio quality and synchronization may not be perfect. Additionally, this method relies on your iOS device being the intermediary, so it must remain connected to both the HomePod and the Bluetooth speaker for the duration of your listening session.
